superb painting. I really like the details that makes it so incredible, notably the sky and the rocks.

That sphere for the observatory always looks so akward hanging there, no matter who draws it and how :P

That's certainly better! But it still makes me wonder what exactly the original creators were thinking when they stuck that there, if not like this example portrays it :3

Having a castle and such, built on a side on a mountain may look cool and all. Until there could be an earthquake or that mountain could be one day a volcano.

This is amazing! It's nice to see some traditional art once in a while :) I was looking for this source so I can say that this painting and the amount of detail has inspired me to create something similar of my own. Check it out if you get the chance! Once again, it's amazing, and thanks for the inspiration!

I don't think I have the words at my command to express how much I like this. Canterlot is one of my most favorite things in MLP:FIM and I absolutely love the design after Minas Tirith. I LOVE seeing it given the detail and love and attention it deserves and this does it justice!

It's so bright an lively, and beautifully detailed. The layout and mix of styles seems true to the show, and I'd dare say you've captured the four essentials of a large (and showy) Japanese Garden. The only thing that's missing is the sense of liveliness, the feeling that it's lived-in and vibrant. Believe me, I can understand wanting to keep a subject "pure" and without people, but with no smoke from chimneys, perhaps a wind vane rattling or anemometer spinning, a carriage left outside (or on the landing bay I guess :)) I feel more trepidation than awe.

Or maybe I'm just reading way too much into it. Still, it's a pretty grand an awesome view.
